Dr. Kavina Juneja is an Acute Care Surgeon (Trauma, Critical Care, and Emergency General Surgery) with the Surgical Group of The Woodlands. She is dual board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.
Dr. Juneja was born in India, but grew up in Singapore and the United States. She attended Rice University and graduated with honors and dual degrees in Biochemistry and Kinesiology. From there, she went on to Baylor College of Medicine, where she received her Doctor of Medicine degree. She then briefly left Texas for Alabama, in order to pursue General Surgery residency, and Trauma & Surgical Critical Care fellowship training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While in Alabama, she was distinguished with multiple awards for clinical excellence. She became a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery when she received dual board-certifications in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. This international and diverse exposure gives her the cultural sensitivity to establish a genuine rapport with a transnational base of patients and colleagues.
Dr. Juneja has been in practice since 2016, and joined the Surgical Group of The Woodlands in 2022. She specializes in caring for acutely injured trauma patients, from initial hospital presentation through critical care and operative needs. She is also passionate about caring for emergency general surgery patients, using a full range of surgical techniques including laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Dr. Juneja is strong advocate for delivering evidence-based surgical care to a diverse patient population in an empathetic manner.
Dr. Juneja enjoys swimming, traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She is married, and her husband is a practicing Prosthodontist in the area.
